Privacy Policy
Last updated:
This policy explains how Kinetiqo Ltd collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use the Kinetiqo website and platform. It is written to comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Kinetiqo's ICO data-protection registration is in progress; the registration number will be published here once issued.
Who we are
Kinetiqo Ltd (company number 17282670, registered in England & Wales, registered office 124 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX) is the data controller responsible for your personal data.
Because we process special-category health data, we are required to register with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). Our ICO registration reference is <ICO_NO>.
For any privacy question, contact us at hello@kinetiqo.io.
What data we collect
Depending on how you use Kinetiqo, we may collect the following categories of personal data:
- Contact data — your name and email address when you contact us or create an account.
- Account data — profile details, role (coach or athlete), and preferences.
- Usage data — how you interact with the site and platform, for security and improvement.
- Health and fitness data — readiness, recovery, sleep, and training signals, processed only within the app and only when you choose to connect them.
Health data — a special category
Readiness, recovery, sleep, and similar signals are special-category data under Article 9 of the UK GDPR. We give them extra protection.
These signals are private to you by default. We process them only on the basis of your explicit consent, and you can withdraw that consent at any time.
When you choose to share readiness context with a coach, that sharing is explicit, granular, and revocable — you decide which signals are visible, and you can revoke access at any time. Sharing is never assumed and never on by default.
How we use your data
We use your personal data to:
- Provide and operate the Kinetiqo platform and the daily readiness brief.
- Enable consent-based sharing between coaches and the athletes they work with.
- Respond to your enquiries and provide support.
- Keep the service secure and improve how it works.
- Meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
Our lawful bases
We rely on the following lawful bases under the UK GDPR:
- Consent — for processing health and fitness data, and for any coach-client sharing. For special-category data this is your explicit consent (Article 9(2)(a)).
- Contract — where processing is necessary to provide a service you have signed up for.
- Legitimate interests — to keep the service secure and to improve it, balanced against your rights.
- Legal obligation — where we must process data to comply with the law.
How long we keep data
We keep personal data only for as long as we need it for the purposes set out in this policy, or for as long as the law requires. When data is no longer needed, we delete it or anonymise it. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time.
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier processing.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@kinetiqo.io. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, though we would welcome the chance to resolve your concern first.
International transfers
Where we transfer personal data outside the UK, we ensure it is protected by appropriate safeguards — such as adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement — so your data continues to receive UK GDPR-equivalent protection.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the last-updated date at the top of this page and, where the change is significant, let you know.
How to contact us
For any question about this policy or your personal data, email hello@kinetiqo.io or write to us at 124 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX.
